Since the establishment of the Earth Simulator in 2002, we have been conducting a series of quasi-global eddy-resolving ocean simulations using (OGCM for the Earth Simulator). Following a 50-year climatological spin-up run, the hindcast integrations from 1950-2006 and additional integrations with CFC tracer and biological processes are performed. The output data from these runs are now being analyzed by many worldwide scientists. Topics focused by such researches span widely from specific meso-scale eddy behavior to global energy analysis of the world oceans. In order to have an opportunity to exchange research information, to boost new research ideas, and to encourage further cross-cutting collaborations, we are planing to organize "OFES International Workshop" in August, 2008. Any kind of research topics related to can be presented, but researches that use other models and/or observations are also welcome.
